Yummy!!

Today we made cookies for Santa & of course we had to try them to make sure they tasted good! This has become one of my favorite traditions with the kids. It's so much fun & they have a great time!!

Bye-Bye Puppies...

Well, the girl puppies found new homes today. I thought I would be really sad about it, but cleaning up after 3 puppies is exhausting & gets old fast. I thought the kids would throw a fit, but they didn't. They said their good-byes & off they went. Here's our last look at them with my girls, Jacob isn't here because he insisted on holding Marley the boy puppy & didn't want to take a pic.

Santa Came To Pop & Granny's...

Yesterday we had the annual Hurley Christmas. The kids were so excited to see their cousins plus they got presents! They could hardly wait to get over to Pop & Granny's house!! We had some yummy Mexican food & lots of fun & laughs! Here are a few pics I managed to snap - it's never easy to do over there, it's a mad house!! :)


Julianna got Pink Twister from Aunt Amber & Uncle Eric.
Jacob got a building blocks set from Granny & Pop.


Mikayla got custom made spurs from Granny & Pop. The first thing she did when she got home was put them on her boots! She is SO proud of them!!


My sister-in-law, Dawn, hates my guts!! She got Juli this singing Barbie that has a microphone with it! As if she isn't loud enough all by herself!! I still love you Dawn, you just wait until Zach's birthday!!


Jacob got Monster Trucks from Aunt Dawn & Uncle Alex. He doesn't like them, can you tell?! It was the first thing out of the package!


Juli got a Hannah Montana game from Pop & Granny. OMG!!


Kayla got Pink Jenga from Aunt Amber & Uncle Eric.


Jacob got a Batman Motorcycle from Aunt Amber & Uncle Eric.


Kayla got Tasty Treats from Aunt Dawn & Uncle Alex. She can't wait to "cook" something up.

They all got money from Uncle Chris & Aunt Janie. That always make them happy!

Our Christmas Card Pics & The Man In The Red Suit...

The other day Mikayla asked me to get the Santa hats out so she could wear hers to school yesterday. Well today they all had them on & were acting silly, so I decided it was Christmas card picture time since everyone was in the mood. These are especially special because they have our adorable puppies in them.










And this happens every time, I don't know what the deal is!! Silly kids!





Later that day, Santa came to the Marquez library!

I'm An Enabler...

Every once in a while Mikayla will get the urge to scrap with me. Well I found out about this great new website called Kids Can Scrap (www.kidscanscrap.com), where it is strictly kids scrapping together. So I told her about it to see if she was interested. She was, so we went to check it out. For November, the challenge was to do a layout about yourself so everyone could kind of get to know each other & this is what she did.

At the end of the month, they select winners & she won a prize!! She was so excited that she won something. She could hardly wait to do the next challenge which was to make a Christmas ornament. Oh man, I think I've started something!! I'm really not that worried, nothing will take the place of her love for horses.

Mikayla's First Competition...

Sorry these pics aren't that great. At the Yellow Rose, the arena is covered & it was overcast outside, definately not ideal conditions for taking pics.

But it doesn't matter! I am so PROUD of my baby!! She did a great job on her very first 4H Horse Club Competition! She got 2nd place on the barrels, 2nd place on the stakes & 3rd on the arena race. She was disappointed in herself for getting a "no time" on the potato race (she missed the bucket) & the key hole (Poco was spooked from the flour circle, but Mikayla recovered & made him do the event. She went outside of the line which disqualified her.)

Maybe some of y'all can make it next time! Her next one is January 15th.

Horse'n Around...

Saturday, Mikayla had her first horse playday. She had so much fun & she learned alot, too! She is getting more comfortable & confident on Poco. She even rode bareback for the first time! I am so proud of her!!









Sunday after church, we went to Pop's leased land & all the kids got to take a ride.

I'm in LOVE...

with these adorable puppies!! I just can't stay away from them! They are just too precious! Emma & the babies are all doing great.

I talked with my Momma last night & was telling her what an emotional mess I was yesterday while Emma was having her babies. I was crying one minute, laughing the next! I am so proud! Momma said, "You are gonna be a mess when your granchildren are born." I said, "Yes, just like you were." Just being present to witness one of God's amazing miracles, there are no words to describe it!

They're Here!!

Emma had her pups this morning!! I took the kids to school & when I got back her water had broke. The first one was born at 8:30 & is a little boy that looks just like her. The second was the runt, a little girl, that looks like her daddy. The last one also a girl, is black with red around it's mouth. They are so cute!! Emma did great, she needed minimal assistance from me! Thank Goodness!!
