A fun, but exhausting day...

We went to the Texas State Fair in Dallas yesterday with the Leon County 4H group. Mikayla had to be at the bus at 6:45 am, so we had to get up at 5:30. I haven't had to be up that early in a long time! I followed along behind them with the other two kiddos & my favorite mother-in-law. (Thanks Granny for filling in for Daddy!!) After driving for over 2 hours with two anxious kids, we finally made it there. We got to see a Potbellied Pig & her piglets (CUTE!!), several bunnies, and some puppies & kitties. The kids got to go to the "LITTLE HANDS ON THE FARM" & be little farmers. They got to ride all kinds of rides. We had to have one ride stopped because Julianna was freaking out!! We saw Big Tex, the largest cowboy I have ever seen, he is 52 feet tall! We also saw some gigantic pumpkins, Farmer Mike carved cool faces in them. We did alot of walking & it was a little warm out in the sun but we all had alot of fun!!

A much needed update...

Whew, has life been crazy busy since school started!! Silly me, I thought things might slow down a little.

Between trying to get caught up on my clients bookkeeping, trying to keep hubby's business running smoothly, working out 4 days a week at the gym and keeping up with all the house work, I am exhausted at the end of the day! On a good note, my sleeping problem is cured. HaHa!!

Anyway, today is homecoming for Leon. Here are some pics of the kiddies all decked out in school spirit.

We're gonna have puppies...

Well, after several tries, we are finally gonna have puppies! :) For a while there I didn't think we were. Turns out we just weren't timing it right. I had so much advice about breeding my doggie Emma, but none of that ever turned out to be. I guess she had a plan of her own. I borrowed her beau, Winchester, from one of my clients. He stayed with us a week, the kids loved having him around. We took him home after school yesterday, the kids were sad & I think he was too. He tried to follow us when we left. :( Anyway in 58 - 63 days we should have some little dachshund pups around here!! I can't wait to see what they look like! Here's a good pic of Winchester. I cut Emma's head off, she's too quick!
Here they are outside playing. They were after something, they had been digging a hole in my yard!

First Day of School...

The day I've been looking forward to all summer has finally arrived. It's a bittersweet moment for me though, since my baby boy started school. He told me on the way to school this morning "Momma you're gonna be all alone today". I said "Don't start with me!". He did great, just like his sisters did, not one tear! I made it out of his classroom & down the hallway without crying. When I got to the truck, the dam broke! Being inside the house is especially hard, the silence is deafening!! Here are all 3 of my babies: Mikayla - 9, 4th Grade; Julianna - 6, 1st Grade & Jacob - 4, Pre-K.

Where has the time gone!
